  • Just type one in and it should be there next time you go to add another node.
  • I just talked to tech about this and they told me to use ${Caption}. Before if an interface on my routers would go down, I would just get an alert that said device so and so was down. Now it actually tells me which interface on a device. So at least now if it is say the ethernet side of a backup router that goes down, I…
  • Anyone, Bueller?
  • Do you work at my company because your environment sounds just like mine . I think we are close to phasing out STM though, but still would be nice. I'm the network guy so I don't spend much time on our storage stuff, but I do manage our SW setup. I know this thread is almost a year old, so somebody by now has to have some…
  • Just this week we installed some Cisco 1231G APs running 12.3.4-JA which is the latest release and signal quality does not work with it either. I haven't contacted TAC yet though as mentioned. Everything else seems pretty cool and working. One big thing missing I see is rogue detection. Cisco has a package that includes…
  • Just happen to come this topic searching for something else, but the way I fixed our alerts was to setup an Alert Supression. This is found if you go to edit an alert --> Alert Supression tab. I added my server that NPM is running on and said to suppress alerts if unknown or down or warning. I now only get 5 - 10 at most…
  • Just spent the last two days working on this same issue. We have actually had the Wireless add in running for over a year and at some point our service stopped starting. I figured upgrading to Ver8 on everything would have fixed it, but it didn't. I worked with a tech and we tried re-installing, complete removal and fresh…
  • quote:Originally posted by pwinterhalder As I understand, I have to include an HTML link in my post. If this is the case, how do I get the image on the forum in the first place? My guess is that you have to get your image on a web server somewhere, then put a link to it within the img tags as shown.
  • I was going to start a new thread, but then came across this one with a similiar name I would have used, so I will just add on. We just came up with a Inventory report that is very useful to us that I would like to share. It is an Advanced SQL Report. It lists all our nodes and names. It gives you the overall total, site…
  • If a case gets closed and say i reply to a support email on it after the fact, what happens? Will anyone see the email, does it get trashed? In the support emails after awhile messages get omitted because of length limits and it tells you to view the case online for full messages yet I can't find where I can view my cases…

  • We are looking to merge environments also. Just searching around to see if this is possible now. Two companies both using Solarwinds have merged and need one environment. Thanks
  • Ok, I now have positive optimization. I just put the lan0_0 ID in the wan0_0 optimizedinterfaceid column for all my remote offices. Then for my HQ that they all connect back to I did the opposite. I put the wan0_0 id in the lan0_0 optimizedinterfaceid column. I would think this would give me the optimized bytes and…
  • I'm also just looking into this report and am confused from the guide instructions. Mine don't have a firewall before the router, so I am looking at step 8. When it talks about the Inbound WAN interface for the router, is it wanting the actual router interface or the interface of the steelhead appliance? Same goes for the…
  • I installed that tool and let it set the polls to what it recommended. Then when it tried to restart the npm service, it pegged my CPU solid. The service was showing it was trying to stop. After 15 minutes I just rebooted the server. Something weird happened with the NIC. It was transmitting but not receiving packets. I…
  • List resources shows what it should, interfaces and volumes on servers and interfaces on switches etc. Interfaces show green and red dots for up down status under list resources too. If snmp was not getting there, I don't think I would get all that info, especially on the node details.
  • quote:Originally posted by josh@solarwinds.net We're working on Orion v8 now and we should be able to release a date for the beta testing to begin with a few weeks. Additionally, we're working on a roadmap that we can publish within the user community. This would be very nice. Knowing what is in SWs future may prevent us…

  • Anyone with some skillz ?
  • I opened a ticket with Cisco Support and they did a packet capture and confirmed the ASA was sending the correct/good packet and the server was receiving it. So it seems the issue is with the net flow real time analyzer.
