Hi, thanks for the reply. I work with a manufactring group with offices worldwide. We're currently rolling out infrastructure country by country, site by site and looking at monitoring approx 70-80 servers. These are with a mix of file, DC, apps, messaging etc and expect this number growing upwards of 100 in the next 2-3…

Hi again - i checked I was making the right changes in mass edit by adding tabs to show what should be happening but some didn't end up correct, probably something I done. Just out of intrest, I'll be adding more device to IPMonitor, is there a way to set a monitors default values? e.g. set IPmonitor so all new bandwidth…

Any more ideas Chris/anyone?

Thanks for the reply. The eval's working out OK and sales have been in touch. What size is your biggest customer in terms of monitored systems and used monitors? Were a growing business and need to be sure that what monitoring solution we put in place can scale well so we don't have to remove it in 1-2 years time and…

Chris, where do I type "DEBUG". I've tried it in numerous locations (includung the IPMonitor URL on the monitor page) and I don't get a debug button appear anywhere in the IPMonitor gui. If you could let me know please, cheers.

Have you tried installing SNMP Informant on the devices not reporting CPU temps via SNMP?
-
Thanks again Chris - much appreciated.

Cheers, I've got a group with all the servers for this site and the router, the router ping monitor is the dependancy for the site group. If I want to add a higher dependancy that the router I create another group? Thanks again

Thankyou Dwayne, Will pass this on to our UNIX guys and let you know how we get on. Cheers, Andy

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little bit apprehensive reagrding changing properties in mass edit (I'm quite new to IPMonitor). If something jumped out at me in mass edit like 'Bandwidth Monitor/Adjust Thresholds' then I'd attempt a change straight away. Maybe this is something to be added in a future release - more granular…

Hi Chris, I see what you mean regarding adding the exchange monitor, but it can't give me reports on disk IO's or page file useage, if this could be added in a futerure release it would really help as i benchmark lots of our companies servers and this is a monitor that would be really useful. If I was to contact support is…

Some more info Chris, Enabling 'Allow anonymous access' in IIS lets me telnet and get a 200 repsonse (success) However, doing this from IPMonitor, using no credentials and a domain account still gives me the same error whether 'Allow anonymous access' is unchecked or not. Any more ideas? Thanks, Andy

Any ideas guys? can this work with a service stuck in the 'starting' or 'stopping' state?
-
may sounds like a daft question, as the answer is most probably in the title, but can this be integrated with IPMonitor?
-
Thanks again for your help Chris.
-
Cheers - have logged a ticket with your support team.
-
I've got one aswell. The ability to have alerting turned off automatically on dependant monitors when the dependancy monitor is down.
-
Thanks Chris, this will also tell me if one disk in array fails?
-
Morning Chris, Thanks again for your support. Cheers, Andy

Thanks for the reply Chris, much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, got a ticket raised also. just have a few more question splease :-) Can you let me know what the roadmap is for IPmonitor? Is this a product you are going to be supporting and developing for a numbers of years, into Server 2008 and beyond? When support costs are renewed yearly, do these entitle you to…

Thanks Bo, sounds really cool and will give it a whirl!! Never got my head around tags yet but will have a good read.
-
Thanks for the info Chris.

Thanks - looks just like what I need. Is it possible though to monitor a service incase it starts? e.g. I want to make sure that a specific service doesn;t start during a certain time frame, and if it does be notified by email. May sound a bit off the cuff but would be really useful.

It worked! Thanks for the reply.
