Hash (#) characters are not allowed. Also the maximum name length for a custom property is 128 characters, as established by SQL Server 2005.

This might help you: Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard in the NPM Admin Guide. There's a step for discovering network objects where you know the IP addresses. Let me know if this works for you.

MJ81, if no one configured it that way, it could be a bug. If you go to the event log and find the event(s) that triggered the alert(s), you should be able to drill down from there to turn off alerting. If this doesn't help, I suggest you open a ticket with support.

I'm not sure if this is available in 9.1, but have you tried File > Export > Export JPEG? If not, is there some reason why you can't just take a screen shot and save it as a JPEG?
