rsprim yes, I did this in production and properly tested fail-over as well. It works. However, I do not recommend this setup. I have ended up with 5 pages of runbook procedure to swing SW to DR site and back, which is very complex. Main limitation at a time was that HA was only available on the same subnet. However, with…

That was a way the client wanted it. Having all servers on hot standby and apps ready and deployed saves recovery time quite considerably. At the moment full recovery of all apps can be done in just under an hour. Time is of the essence in this case.

oh boy, that's a lot of questions indeed to sync in and properly think through. I will keep you posted how thing will evolve with this design, but the good news are - SolarWinds are indeed working on DR option and it will be available in NPM 12.1 (hopefully, no promises here whatsoever)
-
Steve, thank you for your input - really appreciate. Ye, its good to know we will have some more check-boxes to tick-off other then just running config wizard. Also, I agree, HA at DR site is an overkill. I would probably go without it, but one of the requirement here is to keep things like-for-like at both sites - on a…

Hi jckristin I am not heavy NCM user but I just wanted to confirm that the above is still true - NCM will only search through downloaded config, even when you hit "Update All" button?
-
Yes, thumbs up from from me for both cases - if device in NCM it should show up even when config was not downloaded for whatever reason (or at least report should have settings to include/exclude devices with no recent config). And of course if it is not on NCM - then it should not show up.

by the way, if I want to mute indefinitely (which is practically the same as using n_mute) I would do the following: n_mute_until = 01/01/3000 I hope my successors will not be disappointed too much by excessive alerts on the New Year
-
"Restrict Values" tick you need to uncheck ... its like playing with fire let us know how you get on. I would be interested to know what happens when you add this tick back - would alerting still work? Also, would you be able to modify it?
-
1. Double check that your report is located in reports folder. Default is C:\SOLARWINDS\ORION\REPORTS if you haven't changed this during install. 2. Check that your report file don't have spaces (although this is probably optional) Reload Report Writer App

Nice one Thanks for sharing... will add this to my one as well. I can see now how last logged in user can be misleading. I would say if SolarWinds extracts last logged on user and pushes it into inventory already, then same approach can be taken to do the same for last rebooted user. My take on it - it is a great feature…

Guys, how about when I am monitoring server which is in different domain AND which is a DC? Local users are not allowed on DC. Creating trust would not be an option in our environment either. I am stuck...

in the older version you cannot manage alert via web-based interface even though it says "manage". You need to do it through "Alerts Management" app which is sitting on your server itself. There are two of them there - "Advanced Alert Manager" and "Basic Alert Manager"
-
Modifying existing custom properties: From Node page > Management Resource > Edit Node > Scroll Down > Update existing fields > click SUBMIT
-
That's great, you can create alert to trigger when node reboot. It is definitely there whilst you create alert based on NODE. Have a look - let me know if you will not able to find - I will send screenshots
-
cahunt how do you output the name of the trap rule itself into the alert massage body?
-
Ou, sorry buddy, just realised that my one is for NCM and you do need for UDT ... let me see what I can do with yours... 1 moment...
-
Well, I don't know how "traping" works, but if we were to put it into Advance Alerting perspective - there I have ${AlertName} variable for example, which I am including into body of the email to highlight which rule has triggered an email alert
-
Thanks rstoney00 That's what I thought as well and was wondering maybe there is more elegant solution. Anyway, I will proceed with this option for now. Thank for your support Alex

Sure, I can help you to do something. How about stretching your shoulders to start with: * Place the back of one hand in the lower part of your back where it curves the most (generally located just above your pants) * With your opposite hand, grab your elbow, gently pull forward, and hold. * Repeat with opposite side. With…

Hi aLTeReGo, Both IE and Chrome gives similar result.
-
Well, I did figured it out myself as well... however, I am afraid this is not the answer I was looking for. What you are suggesting is a manual process. If you have 100s of ignores and large amount of IP recyclings going on - this becomes a problem if my assumption is right, hence - my question above. Here is the case: *…

just one particular node or all of them?

I have posted some examples yesterday. Just remove filter for views and resources and you should get full list of audit events. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Discussions/auditing-views/m-p/595602/highlight/true#M2872 It is also possible to see them all via Message Center, just select tick box for audit events only and…

Retention period for all SAM Templates is defined in global settings: SETTINGS > POLLING SETTINGS As for the Today's data - you can change zoom level on the landing page of your SAM component to make it one day (it will have global effect however and will be applied to all components as well). Therefore, if this is just…
-
yes, "SQL User Experience" component in SAM will definitely do the job. All you need is to ask your DB team to help you with script. It needs to have the following output: ____________________________________________ Case #1 - no issues Statistic | Message ------------------------- 0 | No issues Case #2 - one or more…

What are you trying to achieve? Why do you need to change process name and in which SAM template?
