very cool setup, thanks for sharing I love it!

P.S. I still don't understand why your top 10 is empty though

As funny as it all sounds, with some elements of sarcasm as well , I am 100% with you. You have extremely valid points. There should be nothing, but green. Besides, there should be as few greens as possible. Instead of displaying 100s green dots for every server - consolidate them into one dot, that's it. It goes hand in…

Thanks aLTeReGo, I think that we may be talking about different things. I am trying to implement your suggestion above to use Advance Alert Manager to log and Event in Orion and then use this Event to display those historical records in Last XX Event Resource for the given component. I am not using any multi-value…

Hi alterego, I was just wondering if it is still the case and if yes - what are possible alternatives to track user changes in WPM?
-
Yes, it will find all letters, but it will only allow you to configure overrides for the first 7 (or 8). You need to configure thresholds in argument and then specify Warning as more or equal to 1 and Critical more or equal to 101. Check detailed explanation here

OK, thanks, I appreciate your help Lada

David, you are Magician! Thank You so much. I can already see this working like a charm... Rolling sleeves - diving into SQL I will post back here my final solution in a few days I hope

I tend to document as well, however, I emphasize on special set of reports, which I call "compliance". Basically, these reports must be run on schedule (monthly/weekly/dail) and they will identify any problems, holes or inconsistencies within environment. This way it is easier for operators to maintain it. For example I…

It is kind of works other way round from what shanlon has asked. Seems like still fairly big task for him to analyse every single object. Besides... unfortunately the above resource will not pick any SQL based alerts (and all of mines are). How does he knows his are not without actually checking them? ... just roll your…

Here it is How To Monitor Split-Scope DHCP Pool
-
ah, ok, yes.... my memory... I have mixed it up with Hardware alert, whereby it was not possible to filter out deleted sensors. May well be the case now with latest NPM. Ye, if you can get away without SQL - I would prefer more native setup obviously.

You know, as crazy as it sounds - I do not use groups at all I am yet to find what sort of value they really deliver. Not a bad thing to have in a tool box, but as of now I see it as a extra overhead for teams to manage. So, how do I do my grouping then? By custom properties, same as mesverrum has mentioned below. For…

aLTeReGo, you are magic! Just in time for my upgrade scheduled for tonight

avn, I have adjusted report a little bit, so, it now does what it should be doing. Thank you so much for your help SELECT DISTINCT NodeID, Caption FROM Nodes Where NodeID not in (SELECT Nodes.NodeID FROM Nodes, APM_CurrentStatusOfApplication Where Nodes.NodeID = APM_CurrentStatusOfApplication.NodeID and…
-
Hi avn Thank you for your reply. I have tried both of them, they work ok, but not quite what I was looking for. I am looking to get a list of windows nodes (Machine Type Like %windows%) which do not have Application Template assigned, say ApplicationName LIKE %TEST%. Would you please be able to help with this one? Thanks,…

Hey, hold the fire! Who told you they are not dealing with this already and not going to support?! Give them some time - they will definitely respond. This is not something that happens every day. Besides, look around - people just like you (customers I mean) are already steaming and getting hands dirty to help with this…
-
... this is how it should look like - let me know if any problems setting up
-
Yep, indeed - that was easy. I will mark it as correct answer This is only available in NPM 11.5+ I believe.

Thank you so much! Works as a charm -- Alex
-
Hi Stripet, Any chance you are able to share this custom add node php form?
-
you are not accounting for SuppressFrom. Not sure if it matters, but what if From is scheduled in the future? would the above logic still work?
-
Petr Vilem, you are a STAR. It works as a charm (had to remove line 8 though for it to work). This gives me plenty of ideas now Just one more thing I could not figure out - this doesn't seems to pick any data for SQL Server User Experience Monitor component type, would you be able to help with this one?
-
Check The Lab - you may want to pin this for 16th of November in your calendar : SOLARWINDS LAB #48: THE DATABASE DILEMMA
-
I would agree. Although this is kind of "Nodes" management page, not Volumes, but if Interfaces are listed, why not Volumes then. +1 from me
-
Thanks alterego, this really clarifies a lot of things. Appreciate your help Thanks a million
-
Great, thanks Alterego, I really appreciate your help to understand this one Have a lovely day, Alex

good spot.. yes, of course, polling completion I meant. Polling rate would depend on performance and completion. If performance is good and completion is 100%, then rate is ok even at 95% - totally agree

This is super-cool script, thank you so much for sharing

If alterego's assumption is true - then there is no way (by design) you can force group status to change upon apps on the node status change. I hit this wall long time ago and this was really annoying as I didn't want adding apps separately into the groups. Apps would often chenge, we keep adding new ones from time to time…
