How to Add Application Port 0 (UDP)

I will check with the Engineering team on this one, but I'm guessing we aren't allowing Port 0 as it isn't normally assigned to applications.  I do believe that sometimes it's used for malicious activity--is that what you have going on here or do you have it assigned to an actually application?

I believe this is a reserved port which Solarwinds does not allow as per industry standard (IANA). We try to enable this before on our system to monitor possible threats/attacks, however saving throws that it is out of range or something. We made sure that port 0 is block on our firewall so that this port will not have source or destination used.

I spoke with Engineering is this would be considered a feature request.  I have opened an internal feature request for you.

Thanks for following up. It is true that port 0 can be used maliciously, and that is why I'd like to keep tabs on it.

Planning ahead for vNext-Next, we need to make sure that this is permissible, also alerting functionality should be able to trigger on this port (needs to be confirmed).

Yes I have seen it and I am also currently using it.

In NTA 4.5, you can alert on Port 0 traffic.  Just sayin'
