I have the same issue on Cisco 2960!!!

it can be a problem host response time ? I mean , to a configuration on the Cisco IOS ?

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve this?

I also received this message on a Cisco Catalyst 37xx Stack. Did you find a resolution? I have had my node monitored for about 6 months; then over the weekend, monitoring failed and the device is working properly. Re-Discover and Un-manage/manage failed to work as well.

I have just had the same thing.  I changed the poling IP address, hostname and community string and suddenly it started displaying the same error.  I checked the config on the 4500 and it turns out that when I added the new snmp community it had also added "snmp mib community-map [community] engineid [engine id]" to the config and this was stopping snmp from working.

This happened to my Cisco Catalyst 3750X.  It worked fine until April 22, 2016 and then monitoring failed. 

I'm hoping there has been some kind of progress in the last 7 months.

I have resolved my encounter with this error code. The problem was the destination port in my NetFlow Monitoring pair was changed to an invalid port.  Everything started running wonderfully once I found this and fixed the config.
