ANNOUNCING GENERAL AVAILABILITY OF NTM 2.2

I'm pleased to announce the release of Network Topology Mapper (NTM) 2.2.  Customers under active maintenance can find the new version on the customer portal.  If you're interested in NTM but don't own it, you can download a trial of the new version here.

NTM 2.2 includes the following new features:

  • Modular Scanning: build many maps from a single scan
  • Icon improvements
    • New out of the box icons
    • Custom icon import
    • Icon resize, alignment, and spacing tools
    • Movable icon labels
  • Enhanced Etherchannel discovery
  • Performance and scalability enhancements
  • Improved auto-arrange
  • Scan exclusions
  • Bug fixes
  • And much more!

  • Like the new icons, haven't looked at importing custom ones yet.  Can you import Visio compatible ones?  Assuming the modular scans will prevent things like windows credentials being tried against network gear and vice-versa if set up properly?  Right now we set off alarms due to the way the scans seem to run.

  • You can import all sorts of images, but not Visio stencils directly.  The images imported into NTM will be exported to Visio.

Modular scan refers to the separation of scanning results and a map, allowing a single scan to power (create and update) many maps.
