What we are working on for NTA

After releasing NTA v3.10 we are working on these items for release in the near future:

CBQoS hierarchical policy view
CBQoS performance improvements
Support for sampled NetFlow
Flow Navigator improvement – filter by endpoint range

In addition to these we are also working on long term solutions that will increase overall NTA performance as well as allow for improved data retention and level of detail. If you are interested in helping us test these solutions in your QA or Staging environment please feel free to post a reply here.

Is there a possibile way to implement nested IP groups? For example, State IP range, then a Site subgroup.
E.g.
NSW
- Sydney
- Newcastle
VIC
- Melbourne
- South Melbourne
This is based off a customer request to see at a glance what states/sites are using the most traffic. I could add the groups now but there is no way to drill down and the charts are misrepresentative as they see the State level groups as completely separate. It shows all my states adding up to 50% and all the sub-groups take up the other 50%. If I disable "show this group in Top xx resources" for the sites I cannot compare sites. With their existing system they can go from viewing State based information and drill down to a site, then drill down further to specific VLANs within the site. I know this is not possible in NTA but I was hoping to at least offer State -> Site drill downs.

Thanks for helping us with this Mustafa, I am sorry that the "Support of Sampled NetFlow" doesn't help you as much as you need. I have documented your request to support Jflow sampling rates.

Does this release correct the Netflow issue with vCenter/esx 5.1? Also, can I get the RC enabled in my customer portal?

The full release of 3.11 should be available in your customer portal. Please ping me if you do not see it available under the License and Maintenance tab. I did some research on what you meant by The NetFlow issue with vCenter/esx 5.1 and couldnt find any open ticket or other reference. Feel free to ping me directly with more info if you like.

Currently it is not possible to get IPFIX from netscaler. Please improve/enhance NTA to support this OoB.

Wouldn't a simple fix would be to implement a "sampling factor" for an interface? Rather than try to learn dynamically, you could enter 10 if you sample 1 out of 10 packets. This would multiply the sflow data by 10 so that are represented correctly on graphs and alarms. For now, I manually reduce the bandwidth of the interface so the % comes out right, even if the absolute values are only 10% of actual.
