In the past I've made my own. If you want to try it and no one has a better (built-in) solution post here and I'll see if I can upload a template with the code to the Thwack repository. I haven't looked around to see if anyone has a better solution.
Caveats: It requires you to be able to put a file on the file share (I usually put a "Orion.txt" file in a folder called "monitoring") and then the code attempts to:
1. Access the folder
2. Access the file in the folder
3. Gets the modified time of the file (gets a property of the file)
If any of these things fail, it generates an alert
if you have the shares listed as resources in NPM under your servers, there are default/built in alerts for that. It's not easy sorting thru the alerts, but there are a few available.
"Alert me when any hardware component goes into a warning or critical state"
When I go into List Resources for the node, I don't see the shares. Can you tell me how to get the shares listed as resources in NPM? Thanks!
Good luck and I hope this helps!
If so, give aLTeReGo the credit.
