    How are logs normalized?

    diogenes

      Hey guys,

I'm fairly new here and am still learning the swing of LEM.

A big issue I'm having is that I'm not able to find the specific logs I'm looking for because I do not know how LEM organizes them. Is there a convention they normalize them by? How do you guys find the logs you're looking for?

          curtisi

The LEM has "Connectors" (the Solarwinds name for "log readers") that take the raw logs from your systems and makes them fit the formatting and display the LEM uses in the console.

What are you looking for or what are you used to searching for?

In LEM, if you go to Explore --> nDepth, there's a little toggle in the upper left corner that will switch the search to "free text" and you can use that to search pretty fluidly.
