Emails Stopped

Hi,

I have a client who has been using LEM for about 4-5 months now, and within the last few weeks (without any changes to the system), Email alerts have stopped being sent out. They have tested the Email setup successfully in LEM appliance, but the alerts aren't coming. I haven't had the chance to login to have a look, but any ideas on things to look into?

Can you check the time on the LEM?
SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Use an SSH client to connect to your LEM appliance
SSH into the LEM, and then go to APPLIANCE and run DATECONFIG. Hit enter without entering anything, and check the time. If it's off more than 5 minutes, that can break the rules engine and stop alerts.

Checked that and the date and time are configured fine.

I've finally been able to log in and have a look for myself. Quite simply it appears as though opening the rules, saving them (without changes) and activating again appears to have triggered the email alerts again. Any known bugs with rules "deactivating" but appearing active?

If you disabled or enabled rules, and didn't hit the "Activate Rules" button, maybe. Otherwise, I'd say grab a debug and open a support ticket. Get the debug soon so that any relevant breaks might still be in the data.
SSH into the LEM
Go to he MANAGER menu
Run DEBUG, follow the prompts
Open a support ticket (https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/support) and attach the tar.gz

MG2,
I had the same problem a few weeks back, After I upgraded from 5.9 to 6.1.
I had to reactivate the solar winds License in order for this to start working again. After I reentered my license number. I started getting emails. Hope this helps.
