    Backup LEM to DFS Share?

    tjreeddoc

      All,

Can I back up LEM to a DFS share?

Over the weekend the group which admin the servers at my company made a change from CIFS share to DFS share.  Now I get an error when I attempt to back LEM up to a DFS network share.

Towards the end of the error it says the following:

“I got an error, so I'm going to exit. Details: mount error(5): Input/output error. Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)”

      Thank you,

      T.J.

Interesting - we are expecting a Windows file share and are using a CIFS mount command. I/O error is a little vague, though - do you always get that error?

You might want to pop open a support case on this one so they can reproduce it. I know we have DFS shares internally, but I don't know if we've tested backup/archive to them.
