    Server Vendor Count Report

    james.lansdown

      Hi,

I need to produce a report which tells me numerically how many Windows and Linux servers I have and how many of anything that is not one of those two choices.

Is there a way to get this count using the existing web based reporting or are we talking about using something more advanced like SQL reporting to achieve this?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks,

      James

          • Create simple web-based report based on Nodes ("I want to report on Node")
          • Do not specify any conditions
          • ADD TO LAYOUT
          • Go to EDIT TABLE and add Vendor column from the Node tree
          • Expand Advnaced section and select Data Agregation: "Count"
          • PREVIEW > HAPPY > SUBMIT > NEXT > NEXT > NEXT > DONE > CELEBRATE

By the way, you can see all this info even better  if you go to your "MANAGE NODES" page (/Orion/Nodes/Default.aspx) and group by "Vendor"

              Hi Alex,

Thanks for that, really helpful, if only I could get the report to show the vendor name instead of the Icon I will be laughing :-)

              Cheers,

                  OK, just do this:

                  • Go back to your report and rename your Vendor column to "COUNT" (Display Name)
                  • Remove Display settings: Vendor Icon (Watermark)
                  • Add new [Vendor] column with all default settings
                  • Now change the order of these two columns by drag-and-drop so that your [Vendor] comes first and [Count] second
                  • PREVIEW > HAPPY > NEXT > NEXT > DONE > LAUGH

                  Alex
