Alert Central randomly is unable to send alert e-mails. I get an "Error Attempting to Notify" error. This isn't consistent. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I know the e-mail addresses that it is attempting to send to are valid and alert central is able to reach them to send a validation e-mail and at other times. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I've attached the server logs.
There are unknown host exceptions in the log: Unknown SMTP host: smtphostname.com - the AC application is unable to resolve SMTP server hostname. When AC fails to send notification email, then the "Error Attempting to Notify" message appears in the alert history.
Please check whether network (DNS) configuration is valid.
