Change the sort order of the alerts based on the "Severity of Alerts"

    gert

When i look at the new view of alerts, it is possible to change the sort order of the view of all the alerts based on the severity. This is a very useful function except that i cannot manage to have the order changed to the severity but only based on the name of the severity

      The order is now

      • Critical
      • Information
      • Notice
      • Serious
      • Warning

I would like the order to be

      • Information
      • Notice
      • Warning
      • Serious
      • Critical

Does anyone know how to change this

Are you talking about the selection options on the left below?

In that case, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do. It's always going to float All to the top and then the bits below are going to be alphabetically sorted. It makes sense in all the other group types. It just makes a little less sense here. Now, if you were creating a report that listed your active alerts you could add an ordinal column to the data set that would let you put them in any order you want:

SELECT CASE WHEN Severity = 'Information' THEN 0
WHEN Severity = 'Notice' THEN 1

WHEN Severity = 'Warning' THEN 2

                      ...

                 END AS SeverityOrdinal

          ...

          ORDER BY SeverityOrdinal DESC
