Does Storage Manager require an agent to be installed on every server to be monitored or is it "Agent-less"?

Regarding Windows servers, it does require an agent, however you can designate a server as an agent server and have the polling done through it for another server I believe.  It becomes a proxy agent at that point.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking from the snip-it of documentation that I've read. We're only going to use it for SAN monitoring so we should be good to tell our SAN team that it doesn't require an agent on their systems. Yes?

There's an agent needed, but there is on inherent to the STM server that you can use.  The ability for the proxy agent is to take some of the load off the STM server.  Also, depending on the storage, you may have to use an SMIS-Provider.  But otherwise, no, no agents on the storage side.

If you want an agentless physical server monitoring tool, I would recommend SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor.
