Question on Advanced SQL Alert For F5 Alerting

I'm assuming the validate SQL works without issues.  I can't see anything that would cause and issue unless there's supposed to be a Select Distinct, but that would be a coding issue.  If you remove the AND statements, does the alert fire then?

I pulled off everything but the AvailabilityState line and Im still not getting any alerts.

I wonder if it reads the availability as a text value instead of a number.

If that is the case, how would I change it to a number?

I think you'd have to change your alert to the text value rather than the numeric.

I tried switching the line from "WHERE F5_Pools.AvailabilityState = 3" to " WHERE F5_Pools.AvailabilityState like '3' " and that didn't seem to help either.  I'm still not seeing any alerts firing.

I've had issues in the past with an alert not firing because the reset condition was true right away.  If you chose 'reset when trigger conditions are no longer true' try the other option.  I normally have to adjust the NOT and parenthesis.

Does anyone know of anyway to display the F5 pool that is "DOWN" in the email message?  I'm expecting it will have to be some complicated SQL query.

If you use the following SQL macro in any of your trigger action messages, it *should* display a comma separated list of down pools

${SQL:SELECT Name + ',' AS 'data()' FROM F5_Pools WHERE NodeID=${NodeID} AND AvailabilityState=3 FOR XML PATH ('')}

Awesome, thanks.  That seemed to work.  Is there anyway to single it out to the pool that just went down or up?

Also I just noticed that I am getting alerts every minute.  It seems like every time the alert is run it is sending out an email alert. I haven't seen any down alerts, so I wonder if my reset query is wrong?
