    Tomcat temp directory cleanup

    Sergiy Frolov

Recently, our Alert Central installation started to freeze every day.

During investigation, we noticed that the root partition is full:

      [admin@localhost temp]$ df

Filesystem           1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on

      /dev/sda3              6062664   5755132         0 100% /

      tmpfs                   961232         0    961232   0% /dev/shm

      /dev/sda1               126931     39441     80937  33% /boot

      /dev/sdb1             41279568    345500  38837184   1% /data1

The biggest directory on the root filesystem is /opt/apache-tomcat/temp:

      [admin@localhost temp]$ du -ch /opt/apache-tomcat/temp | grep total

      3.7G    total

Unfortunately, the user admin doesn't have write access to this directory.

How we can clean it up?
