Forum I am looking for a video on setting up suppression for down stream devices.

I am looking for a video on setting up suppression for down stream devices.

I watched a video about a month ago that showed how to setup monitoring for a down node and suppression all down stream nodes if that main device is down, I want to get the alerts from the down stream devices if the main device is up and only want an alert if the main device is down and no alerts for the down stream.

Can someone send me the link to the video or shoot me the steps that will get me my results

If not, the process is really
- Create a group of your downstream devices. You can use a dynamic query if these devices have some attribute in common such naming conventions, custom propertied etc
- go to settings, manage dependencies. Choose the main device as parent and the group as a child
all the child devices will now get a 'unreachable' status as opposed to a down status when the main device is down.
