Automate IPAM subnet creation

Hello,

I have a python script that automates configuration of switches, assignment of IP addresses, etc. I would like to bring in the proper variables and run a query on the database to add the subnet to IPAM, and schedule scanning of the subnet. I have read that this is not currently do-able with SWQL/CRUD, but I assume there is a way to directly add to the database?

Any guidance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Scott,
Adding subnets directly to database using SWQL/CRUD is not possible now. IPAM 4.2 RC comes with a new feature called "Automatic IPv4 subnet discovery.", which will discover the subnets from the routers and imports into IPAM, refer IPAM 4.2 Release Candidate for more information.

Thank you - I did notice that after this post. How does the RC handle additional information like description, comments, vlan#, etc? WOuld this have to be added in after discovery of the subnet?
If so, could I automate this with SWQL/CRUD? or direct DB manipulation?

Hello Scott,
Using SWQL DB manipulation is not possible to add additional information, it is possible after discovery of subnets using edit subnet option.
