    Send only part of trap details (${MESSAGE} variable) in e-mail from trap viewer

    mdhtbm

      Hello!

      I'd like to be able to send an e-mail alert from trap viewer that only contains one line from the trap details. It appears that the entire trap details block is contained in one variable ${MESSAGE}. Is there a way to isolate one line?

      Instead of sending this:

           Received Time:6/11/2014 4:24:50 PM

      Source:10.1.2.3(bigip2-self-10-1-2-0-vip)

      Community:snmpcommunity

           Variable Bindings

      bigipNotifyObjMsg:= SNMP_TRAP: Virtual /Common/dns-int-vip has become unavailable

      snmpTrapOID:= F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB:bigipLtmVsUnavail (1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4.0.136)

      sysUpTime:= 50 days 3 hours 43 minutes 36.65 seconds (433341665)

      experimental.1057.1.0:= 10.1.2.3

      snmpTrapEnterprise:= F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB:bigipNotification (1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4)

      I want to just send this:

      bigipNotifyObjMsg:= SNMP_TRAP: Virtual /Common/dns-int-vip has become unavailable

      Is that possible?

          Yes, it is possible to reference a specific trap variable. In this case, you will need to use

          ${vbName1} := ${vbData1}

          All the trap variable are listed in the admin guide
