NPM vCenter service account

Question

We are in the process of setting up our Orion NPM environment to poll our VMware environment through vCenter and have been asked what are the minimum requirements for a Service Account in vCenter for NPM to poll vCenter.

I have looked through the NPM admin guide and have not found anything definitive as to what we need to ask for when getting our account setup.

Hi xander,

You need read-only access for the objects that you would like vCenter to monitor.

If you're using Virtualization Manager or Storage Manager to monitor your VMware environment, you will also need Datastore browse permissions.
