Need SW system diagnosis help please

The following three screen shots are from a server with the following essential specifications:

- a VM with 4 CPU cores and 16 Gb RAM

- Polling cimpletion is at or near 100% consistently

- Polling rate is 41%

However, the server CPU utilization has consistent spiking issues.

Any suggestions for addressing the CPU issue will be appreciated. I should mention that the end user is hesitant to add any more CPU cores to the VM. Would RAM help? Thank you.

1. Its just a suggestion, try to clear as many Unknown's/Down's/and elements that are not collecting data in Solarwinds. 2. Could be that you poller is eating up more CPU, check if the issue is happening…

What is the VM for? Is it a server or client? Is it running any processes to cause this amount of usage such as SQL or Exchange?

1. Its just a suggestion, try to clear as many Unknown's/Down's/and elements that are not collecting data in Solarwinds.
2. Could be that you poller is eating up more CPU, check if the issue is happening due to JobEngine process.
3. Why dont you have a weekly maintenance on the server ? Why can't you reboot the VM once in a week ?

I apologize. I misread the title of the message. Are you running your SQL and Orion modules on the same machine? What other modules other than NPM are you running on that VM?

SQL is on its own server. NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM and IPAM are installed on a single poller.
