Controlling down health state of applications and components?

Are there any SAM options to control the down state of applications and/or component monitors in such a way that the component will not switch to down unless it's met the down criteria for multiple polls? We can easily do this for critical and warning thresholds on components but down seems to be missing the same configurability.

But then we can control this on our alert trigger condition, down state of application and/or component monitor is visible on the GUI but when it comes to your alerting you can have a wait set on your alert (for multiple polls) - fire an alert only when your application/component is down for multiple polls.
Hope it helps, but if you are really interested on the application/component status change in GUI then ignore the details provided by me.
