    Delays with Orion Alerts not showing up in Alert Central

      Is anyone else experiencing a problem where some (not all) of our alerts from Orion are being delayed showing up in Alert Central? We have one customer's alerts that seem to be showing up in Alert Central 173.5 hours after they trigger in Orion. Any ideas?  We just upgraded to Alert Central 1.1.5 and we're still experiencing the problem.

          Are the date/times in sync and timezones set correctly?

              Both servers are on the same time.  But it is like Alert Central is only asking for the alerts that are days old.  In fact, 7 days, 8 hours and 50 minutes behind.  The email alerts that come into Alert Central have the correct time. This is only related to Solarwinds NPM alerts.  It's like Alert Central is logging into the database and Selecting all records that are > 7 days, 8 hours and 50 minutes old.

                  How many orion instances do you have?  Does it do this for them all?

                   

                  Just a quick note on how the orion alerts get to Alert Cenrtal - When you first set up the connection, AC creates an account on the Orion server, and a subscription to the Orion.AlertIndication event.  From then onwards, the alerts are PUSHED to the AC server from Orion.  The content of the alert comes from the Alert Sharing tab in advanced alert manager.  Does this information, coupled with what you already know of the way your alerts are set up shed any light?

                   

                  It's certainly interesting that they are consistently delayed by 7 days, 8 hours and 50 minutes.

                      We only have one instance. And I went and looked to see if anything had changed in the Alert Sharing tabs. They're all configured.

                       

                      We're stumped too.Your explanation does shed some light on things, but I don't understand why Orion would wait a week to publish the alerts.  We get the email messages.  But we don't see the alert in Alert Central for a week!

                          If you have the ability to test, set up a fake alert that you can trigger at will.  Set it up to write to the event log as a trigger action and enable the alert sharing.  Trigger the alert, then check in the subscriptions table that the LastSuccessfulDelivery date/time is correctly matches the event log date/time.  This will confirm that the alert notification has in fact been dispatched to AC, and confirm at which end the problem lies.  If it's the orion end, you can log a support case, if its AC end, well, at least we know where it is
