Rules no longer firing

Last week I was able to get some simple USB rules to fire when devices were attached.

This week it no longer works. In the Monitor I can see the USB attach events and all the properties indicate the rule should fire but it doesn't.

Where can I start looking? The time stamp of the events in monitor seems correct to my local system.. I had seen that as an issue on some other posts. I was careful to make sure I activated the rule as well.

Thanks for any ideas..

Can you make sure that the date and time on the LEM is correct?
- In the CMC shell, under APPLIANCE, run a DATECONFIG and press enter 3 or 4 times to see the current LEM system time
Your machines might be stamping the right date/time on the events, but if the LEM's time is wrong, the events might seem outside their response window for the rules.

Yep. That worked….
It’s only been active for a little while so the time must have drifted significantly. Is there a procedure for setting up NTP on the LEM?

There is, but you'll have to make sure (at least in VMWare) that you have the option turned off that forces host synchronization:
If that option is checked, than NTPConfig won't accomplish anything.

To clarify/collate the responses:
The default is that the guest is synced with the host, so you should make sure your host OS (VMware or Hyper-V) is synced with NTP and LEM will inherit that.
The alternative is as Evan and Curtis mentioned, disable the host sync and use "ntpconfig" on the appliance directly. This basically puts NTP responsibility on you, and ntpconfig tells the LEM appliance to sync with specified NTP hosts (if the checkbox is still checked, LEM will bow down to the checkbox first).

I am going to have to try something. Again today none of the rules were working. This LEM appliance VM seems to drift about 20 minutes in around 15 hours….
Doesn’t that seem excessive?
