I have found out what the issues was for mine.
You need to use the fully qualified domain name and not the short name. Example: domain.com
chris.winterscheid It does actually indicate this when you try to specify the IP address. I too made the same mistake. It does say: provide IP or FQDN. When look at Server" under the AD window:
"The IP address or FQDN of your Active Directory server. Usually a domain controller."
