All NTA customers under active maintenance,
NTA v4.0 Release Candidate 2 should be in your portal now. RC versions are upgradeable and fully supported in your production environment.
The basics about NTA 4.0 are here.
Please make sure to review the FAQ here, especially the last section "FAQ on Installing a Release Candidate - RC - version of NTA 4.0" towards the end.
We cannot stress enough that following the deployment and platform requirements, is critical to get the performance benefits that come with NTA 4.0. Failing to do so may result in actually decreasing your NTA performances.
Important note: The currently available Release Candidate version of NTA 4.0 – Release Candidate 2, RC2 - has a known limitation when installed on a 32 bits system: it runs in evaluation mode as opposed to leveraging your NTA production key.
The result is that you will see a banner notification related to evaluation software, on your production system.
As a reminder, running NTA 4.0 (either an RC or the Generally Available version) on a 32 bits system, does not provide any performance benefit (64 bits is required).
Therefore it is not recommended to upgrade your current NTA 3.x to NTA 4.0 RC2, if you are running on a 32bits system.
The licensing issue described above is fixed in NTA 4.0 RC3, now available in your portal. That being said, running 4.0 (RC3 or GA, when available) on 32 bits systems will not provide any performance benefit.
