    Alert Central NTP server

    tasmar85

I am having issues trying to get Alert Central to synchronize with my internal NTP servers. I see denies on our corporate FWSM but I am wondering why Alert Central would not use our internal NTP server instead of random public NTP servers. Has anyone been able to successfully synchronize Alert Central to an NTP server. Also if Alert Central only uses a public NTP server, can anyone tell me the correct public IP address to use so I can write a firewall rule to allow communication to the NTP server. Thanks.

Tasmar85, Alert Central uses three public ntp servers (see below). They are in the etc/ntp.conf file on the appliance. I haven't figured out how to modify this file yet, it is read-only on the appliance.

Here are the lines from the file:

          # Use public servers from the pool.ntp.org project.
          # Please consider joining the pool (http://www.pool.ntp.org/join.html).
          server 0.centos.pool.ntp.org
          server 1.centos.pool.ntp.org
          server 2.centos.pool.ntp.org
