NEXUS 5596

Hi there,

Thanks for reading.  We're seeing phantom issues.  It appears that the polling between our SWinds and our NEXUSs falls short.  All other devices are polling fine.  We have two sites with three NEXUSs and they're all throwing alerts:

NPM Alert Reset: Interface Vlan11 · WS_2801_Stk1 for node TACNXC01.cyracom.com is Up

NPM Alert Reset: Interface Vlan83 · IP_Phones_2849 for node TACNXC01.cyracom.com is Up

NPM Alert Reset: Interface Ethernet100/1/40 · TACPDU04B  for node TACNXC01.cyracom.com is Up

et cetera

None of those devices have actually gone offline.   I applied this fix and that settled things down for 90 minutes:

"It appears as though the SNMP polling may be timing out for the Nexus devices, can you please browse to:-

Find C:\program files (x86)\solarwinds\orion\npm and scroll down to the Solarwinds.NPM.BussinessLayer.dll.config and open the file in notepad.

Find the 'add key = "SNMPTimeout" value="3" />, change the 3 to 10 and save the file then restart the Orion Services and monitor the VSAN view for a while."

But I'm back to the phantom alerts.

Help!

Thanks,

Bob
