Our Oracle team wants to have the Oracle servers allowed through the firewall with unrestricted access to allow for automated patching of the Linux OS straight from Red Hat. I generally consider this a "bad idea" especially because those servers are used in the processing of customer accounts (things like credit card numbers, bank information, etc.) I would like to put a patch management server in our environment and point the Oracle servers to that box for updates. It looks like Patch Manager can do this, but I did not see Linux specifically spelled out.
Patch Manager does not provide the capability to patch Unix/Linux operating systems, nor applications running on those platforms.
