Sync between multiple IPAM's

If you have a situation where two organisations have their own (completely separate) IPAM servers, but you want each to update the other so that conflicts can be avoided - what's the best way of accomplishing this? Having one central IPAM isn't an option, they have to be completely separate. Is it even possible?
