Any way to add an editable Notes field to the Node view?

Thank you Jan. I had found basically the same solution, but was wondering if I was missing a more elegant option. This is certainly easy enough to implement, but the only problem is that it still requires that a user have Admin or Node Management rights in order to edit the custom property.

Has there been any developments in regards adding a notes field to the nodes detail page? is the only way to add a custom property?

Custom Property is the best way, but the method to update is actually quite straightforward than what has been discussed on this thread previously. Simply add a resource called 'Edit Custom Node Property' to the Node Details view

I believe at this time, there is no way you can add notes to the Node Details web page unless you have Node admin rights and use Custom Property.. This may be because the Node details are stored on the Nodes table and if there's a need to modify or update the node, it will automatically right to the database.

Unless I'm completely mistaken, this appears to be possible now!  I imagine it was with the database schema update where SolarWinds split the Nodes table to NodesData and NodesCustomProperties.

At any rate, I added the resource and tested with a non-admin user and it seemed to work fine!

now if i can just get the same on the application view...
