Activity report from Solarwinds NPM

Hi Team,

I would like to have a activity logs like Node addition/Deletion,Configuration changes which are doing on the NPM Console by administartor via an email to me. This is required as we have 24*7 environment and we have more than 1 NPM administrator so wanted to see what is the changes happening on the NPM in a single place.

Is there any dashboard or funcationality available for this ????

No, there will be a different package for the web server and for the polling engines. The correct package will need to be applied to each server. Remember to upgrade the primary polling engine 1st, then…

This is now a new feature in 10.4. If you add the resource Last XX Audit events to your view, it will give you what you are looking for.

Since you are on 10.3, you can upgrade straight to 10.4. Remember to look at the hot fixes as well after the upgrade, you should install them as we have seen these issues. 10.4.1 should be released very soon, it may be worth your while to hold off a few days until this is available.

Hey Zak ... Thanks for the update... Is it a simple installation procedure or do we need to be careful for anything before going for the upgrade to 10.4.1.

Just be sure to backup your database first. Our upgrade took about 10 - 15 minutes per polling engine including the configuration wizard.

I have 1 webserver with polling engine and also 3 additional polling engine ... is it one package for all the upgrade

Remember to upgrade the primary polling engine 1st, then proceed to the web server and each polling engine. You should do 1 at a time to keep them from trying to access the same SQL data at the same time.
Good luck. I have done this twice in the last couple weeks, and once with with a deployment similar to yours. And completed without any issues.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Orion does have a separate Web Server that can be deployed, and I thought this was what you had. Just update the primary 1st, then upgrade the additional polling engines. When you update the primary polling engine, this will take care of the web console.
You should be fine.
