NPM 10.4 Cannot get "Current Hardware Health" to show up.

Hi, I'm brand new here, so feel free to haze me if I'm asking a stupid question.

I'm attempting to view "Current Hardware Health" on a HP server, using NPM, but cannot get it to populate. I was told that I needed to upgrade to 10.4, which I did. I also found a resource that said I have to run HP Insight Management Agent v.9.0 and above for this to work properly.

I've upgraded the agent on multiple servers, with no success. I have a feeling the problem is with the agent, but I'm hoping someone here has had the same issue, and possibly a resolution.

I believe you also need to be running Server & Application Monitor as well to get Hardware Monitoring on your devices.

Thanks for the reply, Matthew. I am currently running SAM as well. The thing is, Current Hardware Health shows up for all of my ESX hosts, without having to change anything after the 10.4 upgrade. I was told that upgrading the Insight Management Agents to 9.0 would have the same effect on HP servers, but no dice.

Do you have an option for Hardware Health when you do a list resources on the devices?

Nope, I've tried rediscovering, and polling many times, but it just doesn't show up. I've rebooted the servers, uninstall/reinstalled the IM Agents, all with no luck.

Both servers I've tried are Server 2003 SP2 32-bit.

Hi Thomas,
NPM 10.4 polls HWH for network devices only. HWH on servers is polled by SAM. That is probably the reason why you dont see the HWH on your HP servers.

Pavel,
this is not correct. You need to poll your Servers via SNMP and probably have to have some sort of management Tools insalled that provide the Hardware Health over SNMP
