Upgrading the NPM/NTA Aplication Server

Hi Folks,

my application server for Orion NPM/NTA (NPM 10.3.1, NTA 3.10.0) is right now running on a Windows Server 2003 x86 VM. Since the OS is a wee bit old, I want to put the Application server onto WIndows Server 2008 R2 x64. The database is running on a seperate Server. The server name and IP address should remain the same. Roughly I would do it like this:

- Database Backup + AppServer Clone + Copy of Solarwinds Program Files

- App Server Shutdown & Delete

- Creating a New App Server based on W2K8R2

- Installing Solarwinds NPM pointing to the existing Database

- The same for NTA.

Could it be that easy?

Thanks and regards,

Sven
