What ports does UDP need to monitor?

    bhooper

Hello everyone - I will apologize in advance if this is a repeated question, but I have had trouble finding any real info on this...

What benefit do you get by monitoring router ports/routers in general with UDP?  I currently do not monitor mine, so am I missing any real benefit from UDP?

      Thanks in advance!!

UDT needs to monitor routers (specifically, Layer 3 devices) in order to associate Layer 3 and Layer 2 information. When you view a switch or switch port in UDT, the IP address information listed under Port Details, or the results of a search or Ad-Hoc report, depend on L3 data pulled from those devices. If you do not monitor the routers or Layer 3 switches (whatever handles L3 for your specific L2 segment), you will have incomplete data.
