Error connecting to WSUS server from the Eminentware server, new Eminentware install/setup

The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

WSUSConnection::Unable to connect to the WSUS Server (WSUSSERVER) using the account: correct\account

What could possibly affect "packet format?" I can ping my WSUS server ok. Do I need to make an UDP exception in the firewall of the WSUS Server?

Mark, this error is indicative of an SSL issue. If the WSUS server has SSL enabled and the ExtPack WSUS Server registration is using port 80 or 8530, this is an expected result.
I emailed you instructions on how to change the console registration from port 80 to 443 to faciliate an SSL-enabled connection.
You'll also need to ensure the WSUS Server's SSL certificate is installed on the Extension Pack server.

I entered the wrong port number for my WSUS server during setup, can you email me the instructions on how to change the number?

From the Update Services node of the console, run the Update Services Registration Management utility, select your WSUS server from the dropdown, change the port number in the dialog, and click on Save.

I have this exact same problem but I cant find Update Services Registration Management utility. Has the name/location of the utility changed??

Hi Hellemg,
It is a wizard launched by left-clicking Update Services, then right-clicking Update Services and selecting "Update Services Registration Management" (or by selecting it in the right-hand Actions pane)

I'm trying to Add WSUS Server in another domain not trusted by my domain. Can I somehow specify remote domain\userid and password to connect with?

Receive error:
Exception occurred at 4/16/2016 12:44:48 AM: Request for principal permission failed. WSUSConnection::Unable to connect to the WSUS Server (myserver.mydomain.net) using the account: <domain>\<user> Request for principal permission failed.
