I am currently working on my interface alerting and was wondering if anyone else has an interface sped setting configured for their internal VLAN's and if they do have it set at a certain speed, Why?
I recently setup the alerting for bandwidth consuption and the VLAN interfaces were set to 1GB and they were constantly over the max of 90% utilization. our infrastructure consists of multiple nexuss 7k, 5k 2k, stacked 3750's and 6509 switches with 10G connections and dark fiber between the 7k's and 6509's. would anyone recommend a setting for each VLAN interface bandwidth or should i even bother monitoring it?
i have set some of them at 100G
