3rd party patches approved by default

    Andrew M

I have noticed that when I publish a custom 3rd party patch, it is always approved for all computers automatically. This is a real problem since I have to remember to immediately remove the approval to prevent the patch from being applied. Is there a setting to change this behavior, or is this caused by something I'm doing?

This is most likely due to your existing automatic approvals.  I automatically approve all critical and security update classifications.  If any third party party update falls under either of these, they are automatically approved causing the same problem you are describing.  My work around is to 'duplicate' the third party patch an change the classification to updates (or whatever you dont auto approve).

I would like the ability to change my automatic update rules through Patch Manager however I have been unable to figure out how to do this.
