Possible to report on which map a node is on (or isn't)?

This question/problem has been floating around for versions.... I need to know if anyone has developed a method to quickly show what map a node exists on (or doesn't). This can be a report, SQL or a resource. I really don't care but really, really, really could use this now.

off the top of my head -> eval a product called "ultraedit" or some other product that allows you to search within "files and subdirectories".

run a diag on NPM and extract the files to a directory and search the directory with subfolders for the nodeid.

you will probably get a lot of extraneous items if you do the whole diag.

maybe try \maps folder first.  should look something like this:

          Find '1499' in 'C:\Temp\orion diag\Maps\90FE7162-91F4-43C9-96E4-47D153825CFE.OrionMap':

          C:\Temp\orion diag\Maps\90FE7162-91F4-43C9-96E4-47D153825CFE.OrionMap(2): comment: "NetObjects=Orion.Nodes: 1499,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1498|28517,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1177|27063,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1499|28522,Orion.Nodes: 1498,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1499|28523,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1498|28516,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1170|26772,: ,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1181|27413,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1180|27248,Orion.Nodes: 1486,Orion.Nodes: 1485,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1485|28428,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1486|28434,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1485|28427,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1486|28433,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1177|27064,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1170|26773,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1180|27249,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1181|27414,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1499|28526,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1499|28527,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1498|28520,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1498|28521,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1486|28437,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1485|28431,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1485|28432,Orion.NPM.Interfaces: 1486|28438,Orion.IpSla.Operations: 621|1177,Orion.IpSla.Operations: 618|1170,Orion.IpSla.Operations: 610|1177,Orion.IpSla.Operations: 609|1170"

          Found '1499' 11 time(s).

You can then cross reference the file name in SQL with MapStudioFiles table column FileID to get the column FileName which gives you the common name of the map.
