As i work (struggle) to customize my advanced alerts to satisfy auditing needs I've come across two ideas that may help me before Solar Winds Dev team can overhaul the alerts/events modules.
#1 Would like to be able to clear the alerts via web console. This way, I can keep an alert active long enough to capture an acknowledged by, time stamp and notes with a HD ticket#
#2 Would also like to have the ability to supress reset of alerts based on that aler being acknowledged or not. something like 'Alert condition no longer exists AND AlertAcknowledged NOT NULL' again this is a way to capture for a report what alert happened, who acknowledged it, what HD ticket # was generated and what was the resolution.
