NPM connections to additional polling engine behind firewall

Does anyone have any experience adding an additional polling engine that sits behind a firewall?

I've got an existing Orion NPM system in our main network.  The additional polling engine sits on a third part network.  The Internet sits in the middle with NATing firewalls on each end.  I'm trying to figure out which ports need to be opened in which direction.  As all the firewall changes take a week or two to implement, I'd like to know the traffic flow specifics prior to submitting change tickets.

What I'd like to know (and don't see in the manual) is:

      -  which system (main Orion NPM system or the additional polling engine) initiates the network connections between the two

      -  what transport (TCP/UDP) and ports (source/destination) are used

      Thanks,
