Network Interfaces in "Unknown" state?

I have 405 network interfaces from various devices that are showing up as "unknown." I verified that SNMP information is still correct, but these interfaces are showing up incorrectly. Most of them are on switches or routers. What causes this, and how does one fix it?

Is the interface status unknown or is it the interface type?

The status shows as unknown.

Can you do a MIB walk and see what the Interface status OID is returning? Also, what type of devices are these?

Most of them are Cisco switches with several interfaces.
Not sure how to do a MIB walk though.

Also, figured out what MIB walk is. We don't have it, we don't have the toolkit. We aren't looking to put any more money into SW as of now.

Here is the link to download the Engineer toolset.Once you install them,navigate to the MIB walk application which is pretty straight forward to use.

So if the snmpwalk returns the value as unknown then it is something which you have to work on the device end.Vice versa,you may paste a screen shot of it to look in further.

Alright, we have a long change approval process here, so I would have to do that before implementing any such thing.
FWIW, SNMP is configured correctly for the devices in question, in Orion.

Again without snmpwalk results it is hard to come to any conclusion.In the mean time you could log into the device and pick one or two interface names to paste a screen shot of them.According to the "Interfaces table" in the database,the "interfacename" field has a limit of 255 characters.I am trying to see if the interface names appear way too long than the limit.
