node management with out delete capability

We have a situation where the Operations group will sometimes 'un-manage' a node so they dont get the APM alerts when maintenace is being done..

I am sure we are the only company that had this issue..: SOMEONE DELETED OUR VERIZON GATEWAY NODE:

Well, the outcropping is we would love to have a way to isolate a group to manage- un-manage nodeds without the capability of adding or deleting..

Like another layer of authority.. can this be done.. ?

I don't think this can be done currently (I hope I am wrong) but I second this request. I have held admin rights very close to the hip and as a result often have to make simple changes because I don't have that granularity of control over user access.
This would be an excellent feature.

Also allow users to manage nodes without allowing them to customize or edit views.

+50....can I do that? We need the ability to "turn off or on" anything that an administrator can do now on the system and the ability to keep logs of what administrators have done.
