Monitor a service state, and laert / take action

Hi, is it possible, with IP Monitor, to monitor a Windows Service (Server 2000) and:

Advise if it's running

Advise if it's hung (starting / stopping)

Advise if it's down

Dependent on the above, either restart the service, or trigger an email to advise of it's state, or both?

You can use a Restart Recovery Alert to restart designated services.

Will the work is the service is in a hung state also? (can't find anything similar on or near page 79)

Any ideas guys? can this work with a service stuck in the 'starting' or 'stopping' state?

My understanding is that ipMonitor only looks to see if the service is in an active running state, otherwise it will return a fail.
In terms of restarting services, it will try to restart services in any state by sending service control requests. In some situations when a service is hung, a reboot or some other action like killing the process may be needed.
