NPM Interface Rediscover

Hi,

I've recently changed an interface on one of our Cisco routers from using a 100Mbps copper port to the SFP fiber port to allow us to use our new high bandwidth connection from our network provider. The interface is the on board Gi0/0 dual port (copper and SFP) on a Cisco router.

Having performed a rediscover of the interface, NPM still sees it as a 100Mbps interfaces, it hasn't picked up that it's 1Gbps.

I could change the Custom Bandwidth attributes, however I can't change the Configured Interface Speed, in any case I'd much prefer NPM do this for itself.

Any ideas ?

  • Hi DeanBennett,

Other users report that in some cases it takes 2 discovery instances (and some time) before the new speed is picked-up by NPM.

How long (/how many discoveries) have happened since the speed change?

Does this look like your symptoms?
