Stale Interfaces - Even After Re-Poll and Re-Discover

admin -> manage node -> select device and expand.

all of the "OLD" interfaces that are no longer there will show up here and you can select and delete them.

A "duh" moment for me.  This works, Thanks!!!

Hello, I checked in our environment and found there are over 3000 stale interfaces/volumes/hardware sensors. Is there any Ideal and easy way to search -select and delete these through SQL commands ?

or going through one by one and deleting them from the UI is the only option?

Is this by design or bug? Ideally the old interfaces should not pop us under the device.

lol of course its by design. SolarWinds won't know unless you press delete.

From the interfaces table, you can do this:

select * from Interfaces where status = 0

Here are some interface status indicators for your reference:

Once all are shown, validate then change select to delete. something like this:

Delete from Interfaces where status = 0

hmm..thats strange...so only way would be to delete them if not required...

Or you can use this query

SELECT I.InterfaceName, N.Caption, N.DetailsURL AS [_LinkFor_Caption]

FROM Orion.NPM.Interfaces I INNER JOIN Orion.Nodes N ON (N.NodeID = I.NodeID)

WHERE I.Status = 0

Either put it in SWQL Studio, or customize a webpage in Orion and add a "Custom Query" resource and put it in there.

I call it "Ghost Interfaces".  Once you find them follow the procedure to delete them.   I prefer not to delete en-mass as I don't know what else might be associated with it.  If you do it via "Manage Nodes" Orion definitely gets rid of them the right way...
