Any tips for a Solarwinds admin who's not a Cisco bod

    jase4772

      Hi,

I'm planning on taking this exam in the next few weeks (lots of study needed! and with not being a network engineer was wondering how I'll find it? My main role is Windows based solution deployment and I've also been the Solarwinds main admin since version 9.

We use NPM, APM and NTA modules.

      Thanks

      Jase

          Hi,

from my experience you do not need to be a cisco expert to pass the exam.

if you were the main administrator since version 9 and have a good understanding of all OSI layers and have a basic understanding of how networks work (what is a core-switch, branch office-router, firewall etc.) you should be more than fine.

again, if you actively use, maintain and administrate orion with NPM, APM and NTA you should do fine :)

you might want to have some basic knowledge about sql too (not programming, just the concepts)
